A turret is a light defensive unitand unlike most other units it needs to stabilize itself into the ground before being able to fire.Typically armed with a minigun, it is able to fend off light attacks when placed correctly and in a team of at least one other turret.
Although a turret is lighter armed and armored then a gun tower, it has the advantage that it doesn’t need a nearby power plant to operate and can redeploy to another position at the commander’s will.

A turret has two cannon hardpoints, of which one is taken when it comes out of the recycler. In order to bring out the turrets full potential this second hardpoint should be filled by another minigun.
