The howitzer is a long range artillery unit that can accurately hit a target up to 750 meters away and destroy most of these after few direct hits.
It fires its projectiles in a high arc so these projectiles take some time travelling to their target. Therefore it is best used against fortifications, such as gun towers or power plants, because it has a hard time hitting units that rapidly change their position relative to that of the howitzer.
Although it can anticipate the movement of non-stationary units up to some point, this and the fact that it has to remain stationary while firing, make it an easy prey for Soviet fighters when unguarded by turrets or friendly fighters.

A howitzer carries one mortar hardpoint.
