No-Ship

Overview: A no-ship is the technological peak of Ixian technology. The designation 'No-Ship' does not refer to a single class of ship; it refers to any ship equipped with a no-field generator. These generators create overlapping fields, and anything within the area of these fields is completely invisible to all sensors. However, they are still physically present, so they can be detected in an atmosphere by the wake they produce.

Size: The smallest No-Ships are 140 metres in diameter. There is no known limit to how large they can become, but the energy required to produce a no-field increases exponentially after a certain point. For example, it would require the output of several stars to make a planetary-scale no-field.

Weaponry: Since No-Ships can be in service for several thousand years, the weapons carried by them vary from ship to ship by age and the personal tastes of their crews. One thing known is that the ships do carry enough firepower to glass an entire planet (that is, to add enough heat to melt and fuse the surface into a glassy material).
