Operation Exodus

Formally titled 'Contingency Plan Exodus', this protocol was originally in place on Moonbase Alpha due to the sensitive nature of the nuclear waste that was dumped on the moon. In an emergency where nuclear waste might explode, or otherwise cause a catastrophe, the base would be evacuated.

As Moonbase Alpha grew, and the scope of it's mission expanded, the protocol was also expanded to include provisions for evacuation if anything major happened on the bases experimental labs that could endanger personnel.

In the post-Breakaway environment, Operation Exodus, as it was usually known, acquirred a new meaning. Since the Moon would only be in range of planets for a certain amount of time, a scouting parting was usually sent out, and if a planet had been found that was suitable for habitation by the Alphans, Exodus would be put into effect. In this guise this meant that all Eagles would be put into operation for a rapid, comprehensive and safe evacuation of Moonbase Alpha. Sufficient supplies and equipment would also have to be loaded.

Moonbase Alpha put Operation Exodus into effect on a few occasions, but it was either cancelled or was only temporary. One such case was when the Eagle fleet evacuated Alpha of its personnel since the base was being bombarded by shock waves of an increasing intensity.
