Overlord Class Dropship

The Overlord class dropship is one of the more common large Dropship designs in the Inner Sphere, and modified variants are used by the Clans. Like the smaller Union class, the Overlord is a spheroid design which makes it especially vulnerable during takeoff and landing.

The standard Overlord has a formidable armament of 6 PPCs, 3 LRM-20 racks, 2 AC/20s,
6 AC/5s, 6 Large Lasers and 12 Medium Lasers.

Capable of carrying 36 Battlemechs, 3 times the number of a Union, the Overlord is usually beyond the financial reach of most Mercenary companies except for extremely succesful ones like the Wolf's Dragoons, Kell Hounds or Gray Death Legion. Overlords are often used as Command dropships in the armies of the Successor States. Comfort for the crew and passengers is substantially better, on average, in an Overlord than a Union, though obviously this can vary depending on the condition of the vessel.
