Pilot Ship

The Pilot Ship was a small ship provisionally attached to the Superswift interplanetary spacecraft to act as a high speed scouter. Aliens with vast hive telepathy powers were able to convince the Alphans that the Superswift had landed and earth people had emerged. To give credence to the argument they convinced the Alphans that a three man team should take the pilot ship back to Earth.

In actuality, the Pilot ship was an Eagle and not in fact real, it had existed, like the Superswift on a designers desk prior to Breakaway. What we see is, presumably, the design that was proposed. The design shown is of a very small three seater craft with a tripod style landing gear. Podded engines give a high speed. It is assumed that like the Superswift it was part of, the project was a failure.
