Raiders

Raiders are the modern day pirates of the spacelanes. Generally made up of hardened criminals, raiders prey on all sorts of commercial traffic. They are a constant thorn in the side of Earthforce.

Their primary fighter is the Belt Alliance Zephyr fighter, an obsolete design which is cheap to buy, especially on the black market, and it is also easy to maintain. Raiders also are involved in arms smuggling, slavery and hostage taking as well as other unsavoury activities.

Raiders generally don't prosper in systems with a heavy Earthforce or planetary police presence, but depending on the systems they can still be a menace. Some raider groups have even managed to afford their own crude jump capable carrier vessels.
