Satazius

The Gunship Satazius was encountered by Moonbase Alpha when they entered a planetary system where there were two planets orbiting a sun in such a way that they were never in direct view of one another.

The Satazius, from the planet Betha was dispatched to the Moon to use the Moon as a firing platform, obviously its main armament necessitated this.

The Satazius's primary armament seems not to be defensive, but totally offensive. A retractable four tube missile launcher which can be rapidly reloaded. These missiles were then launched at the opposing planet, Delta. It's presumed from visual evidence that these missiles were either extremely high yield conventional warheads or low yield tactical nuclear missiles. The Satazius was able to take position because she also has a secondary capability of disabling certain ground forces. Indeed, all Alphan Eagles found themselves totally deprived of take off capability and could not intercept the Satazius before she managed to land.

The Satazius was moored in orbit of Betha in readiness for an opportunity to use any rogue planetoid as a firing post. The Satazius was a huge ship, but was ultimately vulnerable. She was eventually destroyed by a Moon Buggy packed with explosives.

A Bethan gunship carries a crew of four, one Commander and three operators. The Bethan Gunships also carry a short range escape craft capable of carrying one person in case of an emergency. Presumably this is reserved for the Commander of the vessel if they still live after severe damage is sustained.
