Scarab-class Colonial Shuttle

The Colonial Shuttle, sometimes known as the Scarab, is the workhorse of the Colonial Fleet and is a multipurpose craft.

It can carry a fair number of passengers in relative comfort but can also be reconfigured to carry larger numbers, either as a small troop transport, or for other roles that need large numbers - such as evacuation shuttles.

The Shuttle has a spacious cargo bay that can accomodate one Colonial Landram-class ground attack vehicle. This space can also be used to carry general cargo, though it is assumed that special preparations are made for voilatile cargoes like Tylium or for perishables.

These vessels are unarmed and are usually escorted by Vipers if they have to stray beyond the fleet.
