Scarran Dreadnought

Dreadnoughts are the main capital ship of the Scarran fleet. More than double in size than their main adversary the Peacekeeper Command Carrier they are the mightiest warship in the Farscape Universe. Thanks to this it is well suited to serve as a projection of force in the galaxy in order to advance the interests of the Scarran Empire.

Heavily armed with seven four-barreled turrets, 3 on the main axis and 2 on each side of the ship they can unleash a broadside of twenty and a total of twenty eight shots. The PCC can manage only six broadside and twelve total shots from its main batteries. Not much is known about the nature of its main weapons except that they are energy based. The ship is rumored to posses a number of smaller weapons including missiles and a AA defense weapons although none of them are seen on screen. The main batteries of the ship can be used as AA defenses as well to strengthen the defense grid of the ship.

The role of the Dreadnought is diverse. It cans serve as a mobile base of operations, battleship and primarily as a carrier. As seen on screen its role is to launch its complement of fighters and bombers against the enemy ships and bombard planets from orbit rather than engaging in ship to ship combat.

The ship carries large wings of Scarran fighters and Striker heavy fighter/bombers as well as a large number of other craft: shuttles, science vessels, repair vessels, electronic warfare/reconnaissance vessels and troop transport shuttles. Crew complement is of yet unknown but is believed to be around one hundred thousand scarrans and slave races both civilian and military personnel.
