Serenity

The pilot episode of Firefly, not shown as part of the initial run. It was broadcast later as part of an 'Origins' feature that the TV station was running.

From the beginning, Firefly wears its heart on its gun belt, with a twangy 'wild west' musical score, and the tale of a man who was on the losing side of a civil war, and now spends his solitary life on the fringes of human existence. An Eastern theme to the series is also established early on, with characters swearing in chinese, as well as many costumes taking influences from both sides of civilisation.

Captain Mal Reynolds takes on board some passengers to help cover his fuel bill. Things ake a turn for the unexpected, however, when accusations start to fly and the crew of Serenity find themselves on the run from the law.
