Emperor Shaddam IV
Emperor Shaddam IV was the Padishah Emperor at the time of the Arrakis affair. He was the last Emperor of House Corrino to hold the Lion throne. He, along with House Harkonnen, engineered the downfall of House Atreides and the death of Duke Leto.Shaddam felt that the Dukes rising popularity in the Landsraad would challenge his authority.
When Emperor Shaddam's forces were defeated by the Fremen led by Paul 'Muad'dib' Atreides, he was exiled to the penal world of Salusa Secundus.
