Universe: Perfect Dark

Skedar

The Skedar are a warlike race of aliens who are hostile towards humanity, and towards another alien race, the Maians.

The Skedar are bipedal, walking on two-toed feet, with a body held parallel to the ground and two arms at the chest. The head is large and roughly triangular, with prominent eyes. They measure approximately three to four feet tall at the head and are quite resistant to shock. However, this outward appearance is actually an artificial bio-armature; the actual Skedar individual is a snake- or worm-like creature that 'plugs in' to the back of the head on the armature. The 'tail' of this true Skedar can be seen protruding from the head and hanging over the body.

The Skedar are a savage, bloodthirsty species, and they prefer weapons that inflict pain and fear (while also being effective in combat). However, they are not blinded by their ferocity, and are capable of subtle manipulations when it suits their purposes. They are ruled by a supreme leader from their inner sanctum on their homeworld, also known as Skedar.

Examples of Skedar weapons technology include the Mauler, an extremely powerful pistol with a bladed edge for melee combat, the Reaper, essentially a three-barreled minigun with bladed barrels that can be used as a gruesome 'grinder' in hand-to-hand combat, and the Slayer, a fly-by-wire missile launcher that allows the (Skedar) operator to see the fear on the face of the victim. Less direct Skedar technologies include sophisticated holographic devices, which were used by the Skedar liaisons to the DataDyne Corporation. They allowed Skedar operatives to appear as tall blonde men in white trenchcoats.

The Skedar operate at least one kind of starship, a moderately-sized transport about the size of a large passenger aircraft.
