Skipray Blastboat

The Skipray Blastboat is essentially a gunship. Larger than a fighter but significantly smaller than a corvette, these 25-meter-long vessels are designed to engage both fighters and small capital ships.

The Skipray is best suited for anti-ship combat. It maintains three capital-ship-grade medium ion cannons, a concussion-missile launcher, and a proton torpedo launcher for this role. Against fighters, it uses a turret-mounted dual laser cannon which is much more powerful than most standard fighter lasers. Its defenses are also quite impressive, being capable of shrugging off virtually all fighter-based weaponry and giving it greater survivability against capital-ship weapons.

Skiprays are small enough to be carried on board larger vessels, making them an excellent way to complement the firepower of their home ship - although they also have their own hyperdrive. Their versatility and durability made these remarkable craft a staple of the Imperial Navy during the Empire's reign.
