Son'a

The Son'a are a small, but highly advanced civillazation, who are known to be narcissistic and materialist, and former members of another race, called the Ba'ku.

The Son'a were a group of young Ba'ku, who rejected the primitive way of live of their elders, and tried a rebellion and a takeover of the Ba'ku society, wich had failed. Afterwards, the Son'a fled the Ba'ku planet with a self-made ship, and established themselves in the Beta Quadrant, but far away from the major powers. In the following decades, the Son'a enslaved two primitive species, the Tarlac and the Ellora, and intregrated them as a labourer and soldier class.

In 2375, the Son'a were becoming a dying race, as they were no longer prevented of aging that was present on their former homeworld and expiriments with chemicals to expand their life expectancies, they couldn't produce offspring. Their only hope was to capture the unique radiation that surrounded the Ba'ku homeworld, but because it was inside of Federation space, the Son'a made a deal with Starfleet Admiral Dougherty, for the promise of sharing the radiation with the rest of the Federation.

The proces to extract the radiation would have killed the entire Ba'ku population, if the Son'a plans weren't interferred by the Federation starship USS Enterprise-E, and it's captain.

After their plan failed, some Son'a returned to live among their former people again, but most Son'a returned to their own homeworld, plotting to take revenge and some day, to take the radiation.
