Southers
The Southers are the 'good guys' in the conflict on Nu-Earth. In true comic book style, the masks of the Southers chem suits are open, so that you can see their faces unlike the hooded Norts.Unfortunately the Souther army is generally smaller and less well equipped than that of the Norts and they do not seem to use as many 'dirty' weapons. The Southers ultimately run the war from Milli-Com, a gigantic satellite.
To redress the balance in forces the Souther scientists developed the GI or Genetic Infantryman, a cloned soldier who had one purpose, to kill the enemy. They could breathe the chemical infested air of Nu-Earth and thereby had neither the bulk of a chem suit or could be detected by a suit sensor.
Unfortunately, the GI's were sold out to the Norts by a traitor and were butchered in the Quartz Zone Massacre.
