Sovetskii Soyuz class Battlecruiser

The Sovetskii Soyuz was originally classed as a Heavy Cruiser and was part of an overhaul of the Star League Defence Forces naval fleet after years of neglect due to horrendous amounts of money being spent on the automated defense systems that would be so easy for Amaris the Usurper to defeat. While this had been going on, the Star League fleet had fallen behind in technology and capability and was regarded as weaker than the member states own forces.

The Sovetskii Soyuz was one of a number of new designs to emerge in a large scale upgrading of the SLDF and was notable for it's large use of computer control as well as its heavy armament.

Armament consisted of a formidable array of 12 Class-20 Naval Autocannons, 6 Class 45 Naval Lasers, 8 Medium Naval Particle Projection Cannons and 2 White Shark and 4 Barracuda Missile Launcher batteries.

The vast majority of the class was destroyed in the attempt to depose Amaris, but around 40 surviving vessels left with General Kerensky's Exodus fleet. Since then, the Clans have upgraded the surviving vessels with Ferrous-Fibrous armour and lithium-fusion batteries.
