Overview
Star Trek's 11th film will be a 'reboot' of the franchise, restarting continuity from the Kirk, Spock and McCoy days in the original series. Beyond rumour, little is known about the film's plot at the moment.
Cast
Chris Pine of The Princess Diaries 2 and Just My Luck is set to star as Kirk. Heroes' Zachary Quinto has been cast as Spock, after his performance as Sylar gained the attention of the media. Karl Urban has landed the role of Dr. McCoy. Zoe Saldana (The Terminal, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl) is Uhura, John Cho is Sulu, Anton Yelchin is Chekov and Simon Pegg (Spaced, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) is to play Scotty.
Cameos
Leonard Nimoy has been confirmed to be playing Spock in a cameo role (presumably an older Spock). William Shatner has expressed his displeasure that he has not been asked to play Kirk in any capacity.
